This Moment

I may never see tomorrow;
There’s no written guarantee.
And things that Happened yesterday
Belong to history.

I cannot predict the future,
I cannot change the past.
I have just the present moment,
I must treat it as my last.

I must use this moment wisely,
For it soon will pass away.
And be lost forever
As a part of yesterday.

I must exercise compassion,
Help the fallen to their feet.
Be a friend unto the friendless,
Make an empty life complete.

The unkind things I do today
May never be undone
And friendships that I fail to win
May nevermore be won.

I may not have another chance
On bended knees to pray.
And thank God with a humble heart
For giving me this day.

S3 nihal.. i liked this poem sooooooooo much.. it made me think and wonder if i'm really using my time properly and hope that point when i feel i did use it well without any waste in useless things that r not serving the purpose of my living .. i believe that one of the main reasons of we as a nation being in the back of nations was bcoz of losing the feeling of this value the value of time especially after i heard a shocking french proverb 2day saying :"un travail d'arabe" meaning by that, any work that is not done properly"metkarwet"!!! this made me really shocked and hope that we can change that someday and the day comes when they reverse the meaning of that proverb saying about the best work quality a work of arabs.. that will happen i think when we c where we spend our time and make sure we spend most of it in building and working and being good image 4 our religion ...

Salam 'alikom,

What you've written is very nice. I really liked it a lot. We all need to stop a moment everynow and think about what we've done... and most importantly think about what we shall do in the meantime.
Anyway, Ramadan is so near (Allahom balleghna Ramadan) and I guess preparing for it is a good step that will make us "really" think of what we're doing.

Gazakom Allah khayran, and hope many people benifit of what you write.
